What's New

01 May 1999

  • Added the Photos section, as well as some photos that were waiting to be put there.
  • Combined the What's New and Site Info sections (this page).
  • Fixed the Links page, though I seem to have lost the links that were there.

02 March 1999

Another involved update, testing some new ideas and technologies. As usual, I have not been able to test in all environments, so if you notice anything funny, such as JavaScript errors in older browsers, please let me know,

  • The Join the Club section has been changed to Site Options. From there you can register for site update notification, get or change your @stylos.net address, request to have new entries to the MessageBoard sent to you, or recommend a link for the links page.

  • Merged the Home Page and Links Page.

  • Created the FamilyTree Page. You can see Scott's Family Tree from there, or add information to include in the family tree. We still have a lot of gaps and missing dates, so I hope many of  you family members check out what we have so far, and send us information that we are missing. Again, special thanks to Scott Stylos, who maintains this Family Tree.

  • Modified the Welcome Page (the first page you see when coming here). There are no more randomly generated pictures. These will be changed when time and desire permits. I have tried to modify the page to automatically show a special greeting and show a special picture on special days. If you have a special date or person, tell me about it, and send me either a photo by snail mail, or an image in 16 bit format, 200 by 200 pixels.

26 November 1998

  • A few minor modifications made for better displaying with Internet Explorer Version 3.
  • Added Update Family Tree page to the Archives.
  • Per request, changed the layout of the Contact Us page.
  • General clean up of imperfections of last update.

19 November 1998

If you have been here before, you may have noticed that the whole layout is new. The theme and content, however, remains the same. For more detailed information about the ten sections of this site, listed on the Navigation Bar on the left, see the Site Info section. A few new features that might effect your use of this site are:

  • The Guestbook has been renamed to the MessageBoard. The left and right arrows on the top of the page will take you to previous or next MessageBoard, if there is one.

  • The Add A Message Form has replaced the Sign Guestbook Form. You no longer are required to enter your Email address. If either the Name or Message is not entered, you will receive a message stating so. You will need to use your browsers back button to return to the Add A Message Form, and enter that information.

  • The Join The Club section has been added. From this page, you can register with NetMind to receive and Email when selected pages on this site are updated.

Site Info

Welcome to the Stylos Network. The main purpose of this site is to allow the members and friends of the extended Stylos Family to keep in touch and informed about each other. The highlight is certainly the MessageBoard.

For information about the best system and browser choices for viewing this site, read the Best View section further down this page.

Here is a brief description if the ten sections listed on the Navigation Bar on the left:

Read Messages

Here you can read all the messages that have been posted on the MessageBoard. For faster viewing, this MessageBoard is archived periodically. You can use the left and right arrows on the top of the page to navigate to the different archives.

Add A Message

Here you will find the form to add your own message to the MessageBoard. You must enter your name and a message before it will be posted. Optionally, you may also enter your Email address.

Photos

Here you can find the photos that various members have deemed worthy of sharing. If you have some photos that you would like to share, feel free to send them in.

The Gazette

The Gazette is a news letter with pictures and stories about recent family events, or what ever else is deemed to be of interest. You may use the left and right arrows to view the previous issues. If you have something that you would like included here, please contact our Editor In Chief, Paula Stylos.

Archives

Here you will find links to some pages that appeared on this site at one time or another, or pages that do not fit into one of the other categories.

Links

Site that are considered worth visiting are listed here. This includes Home Pages that may or may not be hosted on this site.

Family Tree

A part of the Family Tree work of Scott Stylos is here. We also have a page where you can add or modify information about family members that you would like to have put in the family tree. If you know something that we do not, especially in terms of births, marriages and some of the missing dates, please take the time to let us know.

Contact Us

This section consists of an Email form, which you can use to send an Email to selected members of the network, without the need of an Email program. A convenient way to keep in touch when using a computer that is not your own, such as from a cyber-cafe whilst travelling.

Site Options

Some of the services that we offer to our viewers are here. This includes update notification, and email aliases.

Best View

You should use Version 4 or higher of Netscape or Internet Explorer. Earlier versions will not understand the formatting commands used throughout this site.

You Display should be capable of showing 16 bit color. If you are using 256 color mode (Windows default), you should certainly be using one of the browsers listed above, as they render the graphics much more gracefully than earlier versions.

Your display should be set to at least 800 by 600 pixels. If your display is set to 640 by 480 pixels (Windows default), you should run the browser in full screen mode, and try to maximize your viewing area. You can do this by eliminating text labels on the toolbar, and eliminating or hiding toolbars that you do not need.
