Here is what's up. Want to Add a Message?

Thank you all for your best wishes: It worked, and I had a lovely birthday. The morning was spent with Jerome and Vanessa around the house, the afternoon we had Jerome's party with many of his friends, and the evening I went out to dinner and drinks in Cannes with two of my favorite friends. I think to ask for anything better would have been too selfish! I hope you all can be as lucky as I am when your turn comes.

pssst...hey mark...you still awake? Of course you are...you wouldn't want to miss the rest of YOUR BIRTHDAY!! Oh, nevermind, I guess it's over over there. Well I'll keep the party going for you for another few hours.

Hi to the kids. Can't wait to see that movie. What was the name again? A Hairy Tail?

Hey Mark, Happy Birthday. By my calculations, you still have 25 minutes left. I'm in San Francisco until Wednesday. How are things at buying-partner? Any chance you will be coming back to Doug's wedding? I plan to go, in fact I have my ticket already. I'll arrive early in the morning (8:45) of the twelfth, then race to Falmouth to try to make the 11:30 ceremony. I'll be looking for you all then....§

Hey Mark, Happy Birthday. It's 5:00 o'clock here, so it must be 11:00 there, but I bet you're not in bed yet. We just got back from the cabin; gave it a good clean-up, because the friends from Berea are coming down for a few days this week. The water situation seems to be fine (for the time being, at least). I never saw so much water rushing down Shuford Creek!
I hope you had a good and celebratory day. All birthdays should come on a Sunday! Let us know what you did to celebrate. Love,

Happy Birthday to my littlest brother. I mean, Happy Birthday to my youngest brother. So what is it today, Mark? Rollerblading in Cannes? Sunning in Antibes? Sitting in a cafe and sipping a fine beverage? I hope it is a great day for you, and the start of a great new year. Love,
Paula

well here's a monthly check-in from the local library, my thoughts go to bob's family as well as naki and lee. I'm so glad sue and naki both check in here to keep us connected to their families. Which is maybe one of the few good things to come from september eleventh is that everyone is reaching out to their families more, and friends too. and now comes autumn and another year is turning. I hope to see as many of you as possible in 2003. love to all

I am here, in my country home. Cold and rainy, it is, and very quiet. Just me and the cats. I am loving the Wednesday nights in the city routine, and the weekends together. Kind of like a vacation twice a week. In other news, it is looking very promising for Jess on the job front.(Hurray!) How about the rest of you?

Where is everybody? It has turned cool here, but I refuse to turn the heat on until October. I may just build a fire in the fireplace, though.
We'll be going to the cabin this weekend to check things out as our Berea friends will be coming down for a few days in early October. Hopefully there won't be any water problems this time.

I will, Naki. I did send you some email last week: you should be able to grab it from there. I'll write again anyway, in case you didn't get it (my email does seem to be flakey lately). No matter how much or little it may help, we're here, and we love you and Lee and Kathy and Alexandra and Nicoll so much.

Yes, Peter was our family. We lost a whole branch of our family tree. And it has left so much pain in the hearts of so many people I love. My words fall short of what I mean...

I hope you will keep writing here, Naki. Your words are very important. I'm sending out some mail (post) to you this week, keep an eye out.

And I keep a special prayer in my heart for our other (((Peter))) (Watts).

I wanted to post this obit on the Stylos page because Peter was our family. I noticed a couple of miss prints and an omission of 'll and ". I am sure it will be understood anyway. I don't know how to make correction after the message has been sent or even if it can be done, being the late hour that it is I couldn't ask for help from Lee.
Steve there is no time table for gief. Some can come to terms with it sooner than others some not at all. As for the Hanson Family we will have SOME relief from this pain when we see justice. I weep for the 3,000 victims of this horrendos murder. How terrifiying those last moments of their lives were. I weep for the survivors, the wives, children, mothers and fathers who must face the rest of their days without them. Already I have seen families broken apart and marriages faltering...grief to much to share...to much to comfort...Life is very very unfair...We were so happy...we had so much to look forward together. What a loss for so many....Naki

It was Ana's right shoulder. She'll be able to do her homework, but it happened on the day she was supposed to take her first trumpet lesson. Don't think she'll be doing that for awhile. She is resting now, but she gets up every four hours or so to ask for more pain medication. Hope everyone else is feeling better than that. §

Welcome to the Message Board, Naki! You've always been here in spirit.

I got a call from Ana's school today, saying that she had fallen off of the jungle gym. I picked her up and took her to the ER and she has a broken shoulder. It was in a good place (not on the growth plane) so she should be fine. She'll be in a sling for the next six weeks or so. I was figuring when six weeks would be for her. It turns out it will be Halloween night. Too bad, she had just decided that she would dress up as a patient that night. So, I guess it's back to being a spider. §

Hi Buddy: You'll always by my Buddy. I read your message and it reminded me of the day I went to Boston to meet Peter to help him pick out an engagement ring for Sue. It was a cold December night and he had forgotten where he parked the car. We walked for about an hour through Washington St., et al. Found it and went to the North End for dinner.
Sitting there shivering I told Peter how you used to sell newspapers and in the winter had only a jacket to wear...he said, "Mom nobody could survive out in that cold wearing a slight jacket". Naki

I was very heartened to see your message Naki. In fact I must tell you tears flowed as I read. I do not know exactly why but many thoughts ran through my mind including the many times I would kiss your hand for good luck as I went out to sell papers. Yes I was proud of you and thanked the folks for the many things I had failed to thank them for long ago. My computer broke down and I am waiting for the new one that Steven sent me. Thank you all for your messages of encouragement this last year. I am sorry I haven't responded but I am sure you understand why I couldn't.
The pain of loss hasn't gotten any easier, in fact it has become somewhat worse, I think because the numbness has worn off and I know they are gone.
Peter, Sue and yes even Christine,in those two and a half short years, danced through life. They enjoyed it with sharing their love, caring and giving. They loved the beauty of the earth, the mystery of the Heavens, the moon and the stars. The butterfly was so special for Christine. When ever I see one I feel she is visiting me.
Mostly they loved each other and family.
Sue used to tell us to take care of ourselves because we had to be around a long time for Christine....Grandparents are special and they loved us.
They died together, this is the only way it had to happen. They belonged to eachother. But oh, how I miss them. What we shard was so special, the pain of knowing I will never be with them again is unbearable. I love you all and thank you so much for caring and being my family, I have been blessed by this. Now that you have my E-Mail I hope to hear from you personally.. Me agape' Naki

It was certainly a day to think about Peter, Sue and Christine, but I spent just as much time thinking about Naki, Lee & Kathy. I think that I decided after Jerry died that death is worse for those left behind than for those passing on. But in retrospect, there can't be any doubt that the 1969 tragedy served as a catalyst to bring our family much closer together, and to take the dys out of dysfunctional. It will be years before the true impact of the 2001 tragedy on ourselves, our family and the nation is understood. I have found in dealing with grief that the one year mark can really be a turning point. Here's hoping that the healing accelerates for Kathy, Lee & Naki, and the rest of us as well. Love and peace to all...§

most of my weekend has been consumed with trying to come up with a new trumpet for Paul before the school year starts -- I'm not done yet!

The highlight of last week was when David got to fly in a B-17 - sitting in the same spot his dad had during the War. Pretty awesome, from what he tells me.

Not too much in the way of news in Seattle. Ana is at Lake Tahoe with her mom, she'll get back on Tuesday and go right from the airport to her first day of 5th grade. I have spent the day building a compost bin. I'll put the finishing touches on tomorrow. Next week, Ana and I will go to the Puyallup Fair. Mona, let me know if Paul and Betsy want to come along. I'm hoping I can settle my California case. A long slow drive through the New England foliage is very tempting. Darkness seems to be coming earlier and earlier. I think that fall is truly falling. News? I guess you already gave ours, Mom. Jessamyn an official Brattleborian (with a lovely apartment), Melinda back to Smith Tuesday (having just about recovered from Coxsackie Virus), and Mark and I (with the help of Scott) are headed about as far East as we can go. Only three cats will remain as Otis is moving with Jess (whew!). I just spoke to Athena who talked with me all the way to work. She sounded happy. It is a beautiful Fall day here. I forgot how much I love Fall.....next?
Paula
Saturday, August 31, 2002 at 11:48:09 (PDT)
Well, I guess everybody is out mowing the lawn or whatever it is you're supposed to be doing on the weekend of Labor Day. Not Paula, who is in the midst of getting Jess settled into an apartment in Brattleboro, and Melinda ready to go back to her dorm in Northampton and the two them--P and M--moved (part-time)into Boston. So that leaves 3, or is it 4? cats to occupy the Acton house. Anyway, nobody's writing so I guess I must. We have no news to report; staying off the roads until Tuesday.

Mona, give us a report on Miranda. Has she started her adventure in higher education yet? And I haven't heard how the Shakespeare production was. Say something, you guys out in Worthington. Athena seems to have disappeared off the radar screen, but that has happened before...Mark, how about something from the European front? Am I talking to myself here?

I was also blessed with a telepkone call from the best young man that ever visited us at Monmtvale road and if at all possible I will heaf north for his wedding Oct. 12. I also would like to tell Jerome and Vannessa that at most I am only the third greatest, because they are tied for first and second as the real greatest. And so the beat goes on. Buddy

Paul,
Let me join the chorus of well-wishers to wish you the best of birthdays. Dunno what we did on ur birthday in 1948 and '49, but I bet it wasn't half as satisfying as this one is. You have reached a milestone....the double lucky 7 and it only comes once in your lifetime....so today roll your dice and enjoy all the love and respect coming your way.
Happy birthday, friend.

Well gee, I got up extra early full of clever things to say (which I have since forgotten) and find I have been beaten out twice! Guess that tells you something, Dad. How do you plan on celebrating this lucky 77th? I wish I could be there to enjoy it with you. Did I ever tell you how blessed I feel to have you for my Dad? I couldn't have asked for better. I love you, and wish you the happiest of birthdays.
Your namesake, and a third child of a third child.

Yankee, huh? I remember a hot summer night in Ohio about 40 years ago, when my brothers and I walked to a drive-in movie with Becky and a crowd of her friends, Somewhere during intermission (remember those great intermissions ?) one of them said "How come y'all sound like John Kennedy?" to which our clever retort was "At least WE don't sound like Lyndon Johnson". Where do these memories come from?

But one thing is for certain. I would be proud of Rebecca....NO MATTER WHAT!!!

This is such happy news for me. I'm just gonna log off an digest it.

Probably not Greece for me next year, but I was thinking of following Kate's lead and renting a place in Hawaii next summer. What do you think, Paula? We could go halfsies! Otherwise, road trip to Boston and the sweet sunny south is pretty high on my list.

Yankee? Albert, it's been a long time since you were north if you think that is Yankee. Welcome back to the family, by the way. As one who has know Becky for half a century, let me assure you that will be very proud. I also enjoyed her southern/midwest accent, though.

Meanwhile, summer continues to creep to its close here. School starts in eight days. Ana and I have been out doing back-to-school shopping. What a zoo. Mark, Ana's vacation is from April 12-21. That's when we plan to go to Greece. When are J&V off? We could take some time on either side to make it work. What are your thoughts? And anyone else who is interested in making the pilgrimage with Dad. §

Paul, I owe you soooo much, and Ramona too. You two have made a drastic change in our lives, both ours here on the coast and Rebecca's in Ohio. It is just so wonderful to reunite with friends from the past, and even moreso when the friends are related to you in a special way, as we were/are.

thanks sooooo much for that wonderful email. Oh, don't worry...I will answer it personally, but I just wanted to let Ramona and Paul know, (as if they didn't) what a sweet and wonderful child that #6 is!!
Yep, you do live close to my old stomping grounds. We wandered all over that area for almost 3 years back in the mid/late 60's, and the stuff I put in that book of mine doesn't cover any but the most vivid memories. Ann and I just loved that area...and we even owned a home there, and never sold it until 1974 or so. My Ann has hated me ever since......cause she so loved that area. Anyway we did...and now live down on the Gulf coast of Mississippi....and if you and your hubby...or any of your clan are ever within distance...come spend a week with us. We would love to see, meet and hug all our neices and nephews. Ramona and Paul have made me feel like I am a member of the family, even thought I know it is a reach from a distant past. Anyway....Thanks so much again for your very sweet letter. Will be in touch tonight.

Hi Paula,
As to what I have been doing all these years, please view my web site at http://e9usn.com which I designed and put together a few years ago to counter the reputation of that NY scoundrel, the Rev. Al Sharpton...of whom I claim no friendship nor kinship. Oh I have another web site also that might be of interest... http://sharpton.org There I have dabbled with some genealogy of the Sharpton family and posted a few items of interest. There are pix on both sites, more on the e9 site I suppose. Besides Rebecca, I am the father of 4 children with Ann...my wife of 47 years. Ann and I were married in 1955, and the story of that is well told on both those web sites. It is, if I may say so, a very good read....even the hard hearts have been known to shed a few tears along with some peals of laughter. Now my writing has not the elan of ur mothers writings, but I do manage to convey my thoughts (Who ever told that dumb farm boy he could write??).

Paula, should you have more questions, pleae convey them either here, or to me at one of my email addresses, one being albert@e9usn.us

I know I may have been dominating the subject matter here, and I sure don't want to be seen as an interloper into your family message board. I think this is a wonderful idea and I wish I had had this idea myself, since reading all the hijinks here, you all have made me jealous;)) My daughters are Laura in Wooster, Ohio...well Apple Creek really...they have a small farm there, but they operate a tax consulting business in Wooster. My other daughter Jan (Jazz) lives in Thornton, CO, a burb of Denver. She is a consultant for Solbourne, a consutling firm specializing in provisioning SAP and Oracle mega-databases. She graduated from Brenau College in Georgia with a magna cum laude in Business Admin (BS). We also have two sons, Charles who is a woodworker of fine crafts, and a Harley enthusiast..and Wayne who graduated from USM (South Mississippi) with a bs in Computer Science. He is employed by Northrup-Grumman as an IT (Information Tech) specialist here in Pascagoula at their shipyard. PS..also have a yorkie named Coventry who is my baby.

wowowo what a long letter.....

And to those of you who are wondering about Risse's middle name, which started out as Fay: Sometime when we were all studying Spanish she decided that FE looked more exotic than FAY (they're pronounced the same) so she started using that. Later she used Layne as her middle name. Al and I have talked on the phone, and Becky and I have talked in person and now I'm hoping for an eventual "father and child reunion." It's about time!

Wonderful, Mom. Just think of the band we can put together next summer. The news from here is that it is hot again. It hit 100 this week, and I felt every degree. Jess is in VT with several leads on a place to live and a job, Melinda moves back to Smith on September 3rd, our Beacon Hill apartment is ours as of September 1, so now I am looking about. Southern NH at the foot of Mt Manadnock? Gloucester? Northampton? Decisions, decisions. The whole world is at our feet.

In the interest of not letting one message stay too long on top, I will check in with no news to report, no plans to talk about, and no complaints to make. Oh, yes. One thing is new: I started taking banjo lessons yesterday. It's great. So unlike the quiet and soothing harp and dulcimer, the banjo is rowdy and boisterous. Do you think maybe my personlity is changing? I have rejected the Blue Grass style of finger-picking in favor of the "old-timey" claw-hammer way of doing it. Hot dawg!

Good for you, Paula and Mark. I think it's a good idea to rent for awhile while the market settles down. Besides, it will give you an idea if it is something that you really want to do. Big Stylos-Allan news is the we are now the proud lease holders of an apartment on Beacon Hill. Who would have imagined? Starts September 1, and we expect lots of visitors. The first thing we are buying is a comfortable sofa bed. Highlights of the apartment are its location (walk to the swan boats, the Esplanade, Charles St T stop, Newbury Street etc.) and a working fireplace and a private rooftop deck. Now on to look for our country home......

I guess I better put up a message quick before Mom gets home and finds her message still on top. Sounds like fun camping in the bus. I want to do that one of these days.

Had all 4 of my kids for dinner last night - that was fun. Jeff was in town to meet with his advisor at UMass. He's going to do a few weeks of his research and then??

Melissa starts theater camp tomorrow. The big performance is on August 24 (Sat), and there may also be one on August 21 (Wed). Get in touch with me if you might be able to come. The Merry Wives of Windsor.

I trust the west coast family is showing A and A a good time, and vice versa. Bring me home a treat! (smoked salmon is always nice)

it's all true what mona says : we had such a beautiful trip tho the ocean (cold water, hot sand) with betsy and post birthday boy paul and a kite. Mona did all the driving and most of the singing. We all loved the enormous and dramatic rainforest, mom i kept thinking how much you would have liked it, the moss dripping from the trees, the huge cedars and douglas firs, the ancient nurser logs with the 600 year old nurslings growing out of them. After a while the nurse log disappears and the other trees are left on the stilts of their roots, leaving a phantom image of the original log ... oh and did i meantion the blackberry feasts? Out here they think of them as weeds .... The Pingrees have been splendid hosts everyone, and yes, there has been lots of giggling all around. Now we are at Steve's house where we have been eating like queens and staying up all night playing "spider" (amy) and playing with the kid's walkie talkies (athena) playing with all the toys in steve's new house. Come on out! (Did i mention i'm wearing a sweater? after weeks of solid humidity and heat in massachusetts this is quite amazing) so, yeah, seattle is everything we hoped, soon we will find out about portland and we hope vancouver. There. Have i written enough to boot that silly person with their pyramid scheme off the screen? My brother mark will take care of you as soon as he gets to work tomorrow, miss(ter) verdad! HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my little (well, maybe not so little) namesake. How are you spending this great occasion? With your other favorite aunt? Probably having more fun than Melinda- we just got back from having her four wisdom teeth pulled. She is asleep on the couch in a drug induced state. Then again, maybe she is having fun.......Happy 12!Love from auntie

Happy Birthday to You, Paul. Weren't you already out at some arcade celebrating? Are those sisters of yours treating you even more extra special today?

All quiet here. Had a nice brief lunch visit from Dad yesterday, before he went on to CT and NC. I'll be busy at work for the rest of the summer as other people all take their vacations. Had a nice visit with Jeff and Sarah in RI, and Bill adn Ginny in Fairhaven last weekend. Got a very nice hand-me-down computer from Jeff. Aren't things supposed to flow the other direction?

So, whassa matter? Everybody (but one) is back home and nothing report-worthy is happening? Well, Athena and Amy will be hitting the road (or airways) soon and maybe they'll send us soomething about their view of Seattle and points north and south.

The only interesting thing here is that we are getting a bumper crop of big red tomatoes on the 6 plants beside our garage door. Maybe I'll live on gazpacho for the rest of the summer.

We made it back to Seattle, safe and sound. We went to ground zero, Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty today. Ms. Liberty is still closed as a result of September 11. It makes me wonder who is winning our 'war on terrorism'. It was a great time, but it is always nice to get home. At least before you have to start working that is. Even the 60ish drizzle felt home-like. Thanks to all of those who made our very relaxing and enjoyable vacation memorable...More later...§

Family travel report: Mark and kids made it safely back to France, and Steve and Ana are in NYC enjoying the sights before flying to Seattle later today. We still have Dad here, luckily, but it is way too quiet. As usual, I am thankful for the time I get to spend with each member of our amazing (and whacky) family.

another coincidence paul h. The last doctor I brought my mother to was panagoitis dukakis. that was sometime about 1971. he was not as pleasant as you found his niece Olympia. It is a small world.

Great story, Paul. You'll have no trouble finding some excellent Olympia Dukakis movies...Steel Magnolias, Moonstruck....what else?

Thought you folks like to know we met and spoke with Olympia Dukakis this evening. She is in Juneau for a fundraiser for our local theater group and gave a great speech- very personal, interesting and heartfelt. During her speech we found out she was from Lowell then moved to Somerville and then to Arlington. Her Greek family history is very similar to ours. Her parents came to this country about the same time as grandma and grandpa. Her mother came from a small village near Sparta the same as grandma. What a coincidence- those towns she lived in also figure prominently in my life. Following the speech we went to a reception in her honor and my wife Kim managed to get us through the crowd and to enjoy a short conversation with her. When I spoke of these coincidences I think she thought I was putting her on- especially when she told me that her family married into the Kane family and I told her Kane was my other grandmother's maiden name. She shouted "we must be related!" She seemed a very bright and down to earth. Now I have to see some of her movies- I don't remember seeing any of them. We live in a very tiny world. We hope all are well. We are fine. Paul Helmar

Happy Summer to everyone! Mark, Vanessa, and Jerome: it was great seeing you guys, I look forward to seeing you again next summer. Steve and Ana: I'm sorry I didn't get to see you, but you will be around X-mas right? I am always so impressed by how amazing those three kids are getting. And of course there will always be a special place in my heart for the Seattle kids: Pingree and Slattery, even though I don't see them much.
Best wishes to everyone and don't foget to ENJOY the summer! One more thing: I can assure you all that Athena and Amy did a most impressive job, the house looks awesome, they are not just scamming you all. If you're in the neighborhood stop by to enjoy the improved Feng-Shui...I know I do...hoefully they havn't gotten sick of me! Love, Pam...

I'm glad to hear that Steve and Ana made it, after a frustrating trip. Yes, I still have the carefully chosen DVDs. I hope that the other members of this moving summer-party is having a good time camping along the northward trail.

It's due to be hot here today, too, but not THAT hot. I'm enjoying the ease of my new and bigger (in every way) computer. I will be watching for reports on what and how everybody is doing.

Too bad Dad and Mark didn't make it up to Boston in time for the Fenway Open House, in memory of Ted Williams. A chance to walk around the warning track - without being chased by security. :)

Beautiful hot and sunny day here in the Pacific Northwest...don't you just love summer??

Ana and I are in the Greensville Airport, waiting for a later flight, since the one we had planned on was full. We shouldn't have a problem getting on the evening one. The good news is that we bought some DVD's to watch while we wait. The bad news is that we left them in Mom's car. So far the trip has been great. Looking forward to the next leg. Guess we'll havfe to stop and see the Statue of Liberty on the way home instead. See ya'll up there...

So four of you are in MA already, and four more just left in the bus headed north.

We just heard today about Jim Flaherty. We really have been out of touch! It seems kind of weird: JoAnn died last year while I was in Hawaii, then while I was in Hawaii this year (for only the 3rd time in my life), Jim's time on earth comes to an end. I don't think I'll go to Hawaii any more (though I had a great time this year.)

This is being written on a bradn new computer; I hope it works this well after Mark and Steve are both gone. Steve and Ana fly out tomorrow from Greenville, SC. They will see something of NYC before proceding to the Hub.

The news from the clan at the cabin is that the 3 younger kids went to Rhea's camp and it was fine except that Jerome got stung by a hornet. Twice! Fortunately, Rhea knows magic remedies for such things. Paul made his usual (only better) spaghetti sauce, Jessamyn made cookies (and music), Mark cut down a sizeable tree and I picked a bouquet of black-eyed susans. I won't mention all the Jotto, cribbage, and boggle games. Or maybe I just did...
Ramona

We have made it to NC. Mark and Steve are in Brevard, and everyone else is at the cabin. Just to make Ana and I feel at home, they have ordered plenty of rain. It's good to be here, and I would think that things will be kind of quiet on this message board, since most of the frequent writers are assembled here.§

Mona, in answer to your question: rain has dogged and bedevilled the Stylos clan for the last several days. There is hope that it will disappear by Monday. Or Tuesday. Right now, 4 of us are at the cabin, 3 of us are here (Brevard) and 4 are on the way from the Greenville, SC airport. I think there will games in front of the fireplace tonight, and music by those who feel so inclined and cooking and eating by all. We will try to stay in touch. Wish you were here.

Great to hear about your successful trip, Mom. Next year in Hawaii! Be ready for the great influx to start as early as Thursday, as I think Dad and Mark are heading south tonight. Scott, Melissa, Jess and I start Thursday am, and Steve arrives Saturday am. Now to go to work half a day, do laundry, pack, water the plants, mow the lawn, clean the house, get tapes from the library, and prepare for a great time.

Here I am, back where I can find a computer and be in touch. I almost got on a computer in a library in Honolulu but I didn't have the requisite library card. Mona and I had a wonderful time. Everything there is SO beautiful! Kate had rented a big house very close to the beach AND with a swimming pool. We did all the touristy things and still had time just to be together, play scrabble and read our own and each others' books.

The trip back to Seattle was smooth and pleasant and Steve was there to meet us. Tomorrow I'll be on the plane again and will reach Asheville before nightfall. I recommend a trip to Hawaii to anyone who is considering it. Aloha

It was a very nice Fourth in Portland. Ana is on a ranch in Eastern Oregon with her Mom. We are indeed getting ready for our trip east. We will be leaving on Friday night. Getting to Greensville/Spartanburg about 11:30 Saturday morning. Mom and Mona must be in Hawaii. From the looks of things, they are either having too much fun or not enough computer to let us know. The rest of my weekend is devoted to working in the yard. At least the weather has cooperated. Can't wait to see everyone...§

Finally, beautiful weather. The heat and humidity have dropped, and it is the weekend. What a great combination. Dad is here, and where are the rest of you? Mom and Mona, are you enjoying the land of sunshine? Steve and Ana must be getting ready for their trip East, and Scott and Melissa preparing for our trip South. Mark, Vanessa and Jerome are enjoying the other Mark's hospitality, and that leaves Athena. Where you are Athena?

Checking in from Kingston, out here on(in? Puget Sound. I've had a good time with the Pingrees and Now we will soon be leaving, as Miranda drives us over to Gig Harbor, or the first leg of the trip to Hawaii. It would be easier to leave if the weather had not turned so beautiful. Oh, well, it will be sunny in Hawaii, too. Aloha
