way to get the ball rolling, steve! maybe we could make a graph of who is going to be at the cabin when. I am hoping to be there midjuly-to-early august. I have to move (just upstairs) august first so i want to be handy for that. School is going quite well. We had a really big project due monday, and it went well. I am feeling happy about the work and what i amn learning. I'll be here another year at least, then i may continue on here or transfer . . . any suggestions? My visit home (to answer steve's question) was brief but revitalising. I had a fun and food-filled late birthday celebration with paula, helped co-host ceejays art opening (two different tuxedoes on two different days) and worked on my project (travelling with a model was a trick!). Got snowed in in hartford for a few hours and came back to eighty degree weather. Spring is alive here (i hear it's happening everywhere thank heavens) and i think it's going to be a good summer. What are we doing for mom's seventieth birthday this fall? Guess we better get started on those fruitcakes . . . love to all, and to all a camelia blossom . . .

Ana and I are planning to go to North Carolina this summer for 2 to 3 weeks. At this point, it looks like it will be early july or late august. We'll post something as soon as we know. Why don't we all do that to remember what each other said. Kind of our own online tour sevice. And while we are at it, let's all send our north carolina pictures and make a north carolina section? Also, I am tentantively planning to take Timmy and Jillian to Mona's on the weekend of April 25th, I might try to find a way to take them to north carolina this summer. Leigh's mom lives within 100 miles of the cabin.

Well, how nice that you are all coming alive and joining the living. I think it must be spring fever, the end of a long cold winter. Too long. Too cold. I can't wait for this week's update, Steve. I am intrigued. And Mona, how is that job of yours? Is Miranda in college yet? Mom, I would like to see this elementary school; when are we going? News from here: Paris was fabulous and I have the photos to prove it. Very romantic. What a way to start the spring season! The flight was long, but not too bad. Dad had been here for a while and as usual we have thoroughly enjoyed his company. Mark S is back from France and in the middle of occupational negotiations, but I will let him write about that. Melinda is taking Karate, and after about 6 weeks has already passed yellow belt. Also, she is taking a drawing class at the DeCordova Museun. She is on the honor roll two terms in a row! Jessamyn (who also has two terms on the honor roll) has been accepted to Hampshire College and is thrilled. So far it is her first choice. Unfortunately she was not offered the academic scholarship there that both Bennington and Marlboro offered her. She will have to make a decision by May 1. That's about it. Who plans a North Carolina trip this summer, and when are you thinking of going? So far it looks like we will be heading South the middle of July. Let's coordinate. Now let's hear from the rest of you!

I suppose this is as good a way as any to communicate with a large family, and save stamps at the same time. The latest from me, down here in the tar-heel state is that I am back from a trip to Valley Station, KY where I had gone because Pat was there visiting her sister, Nezi. Though the 4 days I was there had its serious aspect (trips to hospitals and labs in connection with Pat's medical consultations) we had a great visit at the Anderson's hospitable home. Nezi and Doug joined us in dominoes and working jig-saw puzzles in the evening and in the daytime we did our usual: eating White Castle hamburgers, visiting thrift stores and finding plenty to giggle about. One day we dicided to go get a look at the Layne Elementary School, which was named for my mom and dad and opened some 20 or 30 years ago. We had just meant to pop in and get a quick look, but when the principal found out who we were, were given royal treatment! We were introduced to classroom and staff and showed every part of the school. We were both very favorable impressed by the looks and general atmosphere of the school. And the big picture of my folks is still in the front hall. It was a funny feeling, seeing Layne all over everything. Does this guestbook take messages of this length? We'll see. Thank you Steve! David and I actually went OUT last night! Unfortunately, he has to work today (on the new Mariner's stadium - good, uh?), so he couldn't really relax and enjoy a late night out. Paul's Science Fair project won for his grade, and he got to go to the District Fair. Betsy finished up her basketball season with another first place! Camelias are blooming in the back yard, and looking to settle in to a weekend of housework and catching up - AGAIN! Now someone else's turn! I told Buddy I would say HI!! to him here, and everyone would know if he didn't asnwer me! P.S. - a live report - Steve's looking and doing great!

Okay, Okay... I'm sick of checking this site only to find no new news, or even old news for that matter. I know I have been among the most guilty of reading, but not posting, so here's what's new with me: nothing. Well, not nothing, exactly, but nothing I can talk about until next week. I promise an update then. And here are some questions for all of you other reader/non posters. Mark - how was France? Dad - How was Boston? Athena - how is school, and how was Boston? Mike Layne - do you still check this site? Paula - How was Paris? And how is it that my entire family was travelling on Friday the 13th? Jess - any school news? Melinda - why has our most cyber savvy youngster never posted here. My apologies to Jeff, but you are not a youngster anymore (were you ever?) Scott - any new branches on the family tree? Or forest? Mona and Andrea - you are both so quiet that you must have settled the Microsoft-Sun war. Bill - is little Steve coming to town anytime soon? And how are all those special grandkids? Okay, there is some food for thought. If I don't have anything new to read here soon, I am going to start flooding all of your email boxes until I frustrate you all into it. Hope you are all well, I love you all!!!

Hello Friends, Merry Christmas, everyone !!! The "Stylos-Luecke" family (well, nearly) in Hamburg has just celebrated Heiligabend, the "holy evening". One of the advantages of not being American is the fact that we get our presents on the evening of the 24th and do not have to wait until the 25th. Apart from that, Christmas seems to be similar all over the world (well, in the Christian countries, I should say): too much food and a lot of stress when buying presents !!! I hope you are having a good time, be it in MA, NC, MN, CA or France, greetings, Kai and family

Ana is looking so fine these days - happy and silly as always. My Miranda is also doing very well - pictures to follow soon, I promise. She's been holding down the fort - babysitting her brother and sister while I go play at Microsoft all day. And, of course, big belated happy birthday wishes to Joseph Denali -- how's it going these days, Joe?? And one more - Mark Allan - have a happy birthday hug on me! Hope you had a great one.

Great web site! Waaaaaay beyond cool. Nice to see that all of you are connected in Cyberspace. Few of my sibs are, for one reason or another. If you find yourself in Portland, Oregon that is, give me a shout. See Ya.

What a 90's kind of family we have! I'm really impressed with this website and glad that I have a way of keeping up with all of the Paul Stylos'. Vinnie and I just returned from a 3 month job rotation in Sydney, Australia (tough assignment!). In November we're moving to NYC for 6 months, and then we'll finally be settling in Boulder, CO next spring. I send my love to you all! Andrea

ah yes our far flung and talented family . . .Some of us especially far, some especially flung. As you all know i am searching for the road to my future down here in "friendly" south carolina. Although if it weren't so close to north carolina i don't know what i'd do. I miss you all every one and count on frequent visits to the home page or through the cyber mail. Write me if you can, all contact is appreciated and yes i'll help design your house when i graduate. Love to all from athena

Hey! How did we make the big time? And where did that picture of thirty years ago come from? And who's going to teach me to find my way around this new universe? And who are all those people who have checked out our web-site?

I, too, am astounded at the vibrant and fascinating people represented on this site. HI PAULA!!! (waving frantically across the miles). We just had spaghetti with Steve and Ana. I'm stuffed! I spent most of the day practicing music with my new band (The Blue River String Band), and I'm about to settle in for a Sunday evening with the family. How's the rest of you all?

I think it is wonderful to find a network devoted to such a diverse and wildly interesting family. I look forward to visiting with you all in cyber space.
